Entry Questions:
- What tickets are eligible for the Replay for Riches 2nd-chance drawing?
Any “online” tickets purchased on or after April 22, 2008 (“online” tickets include: Pick 3/4, Little Lotto, Lotto, Mega Millions and Pick ‘n Play) are eligible, as are six different “Replay for Riches” instant games, which can be identified by the Replay For Riches logo in the upper right-hand corner of the ticket. The six eligible instant games include games 579, 580, 581, 582, 583, and 584.
- How do I submit an electronic entry?
Begin by visiting www.illinoislottery.com and selecting the appropriate button for online 2nd-chance entry. Users will be asked to first open an account by entering their name, age, residence, email address and other information as part of the account-creation process. After creating the account, players will be able to enter the serial number and other information from eligible game tickets and earn one drawing entry for each $30 worth of eligible tickets submitted electronically. Players whose electronic entry is ultimately selected as a winner are required to hand-deliver within two business days the physical tickets that correspond with the winning electronic entry.
- How do I submit a mail-in entry?
Each entry should contain $30 worth of eligible non-winning tickets (any combination of the eligible tickets listed above). You can either mail an entry to Springfield (address below), or hand-deliver it to our Springfield Claims Department located at 101 W. Jefferson in Springfield. Mail-in entries should be placed in an envelope no larger than 6” x 9 and1/2” and mailed to:
IL Lottery Replay for Riches Promotion
PO Box 19086
Springfield, IL 62794-9086
- Do I have to put my name, address and signature on the back of all ticket that I mail in?
Please print your name--and one name only, please--on the back of all tickets (pre-printed labels may be used instead). Your address and daytime phone only needs to be included on the back of one ticket.
- May I put more than $30 worth of tickets in a single envelope?
You may, but it’s not a good idea--you receive only one entry per envelope, regardless of the number of tickets that are in the envelope. Entry envelopes are not opened upon receipt, so if you submit $60 worth of eligible tickets in one envelope you will receive only one entry; instead, put $30 worth of eligible tickets in two separate envelopes and receive two entries! If you mistakenly enter more than $30 worth of eligible tickets in a single envelope, that envelope will be counted as one eligible entry.
- If my mail-in entry doesn't arrive by the entry deadline for a particular week will it be thrown out?
No, it will be entered in the next weekly drawing. Entries are good for only one drawing and do not carry over weekto-week. Entries received after the stated deadlines on August 29, 2008 will not be included in a drawing.
- I subscribe to Lotto or Little Lotto. Do I receive automatic entry into the Replay for Riches drawings?
Sorry, but Lotto and Little Lotto subscribers do not receive an automatic entry into the 12-week promotion.
- Are non-winning St. Patrick’s Day Millionaire Raffle tickets eligible for entry?
No. St. Pat’s Day Millionaire Raffle tickets are not eligible for this promotion. Only online tickets purchased on or after April 22, 2008 are eligible.
Drawing/Odds Questions:
- Where does the weekly drawing take place?
Weekly drawings take place in the Lottery’s Springfield warehouse utilizing a huge, 14’x 7’x 8’ drawing drum that can hold up to 50,000 entries. After thoroughly spinning the drum, the drawing is conducted by members of the Lottery’s Claims Department, and is supervised by an independent auditor hired by the Illinois Department of Revenue to oversee the drawing.
- Are the odds of winning with an electronic entry better than with a mail-in entry?
No. The odds of winning are the same, regardless of which form of entry is used. The odds of winning are dependent upon the total number of entries received for each drawing. Facsimiles of eligible electronic entries are created and placed in the drawing drum with eligible mail-in entries prior to each drawing.
- Will sending in multiple entries increase my odds/chances of winning?
Sending in more than one entry will increase your chances of winning. However, because of the large number of total entries anticipated for this promotion, an individual who submits an additional one or two entries will not see his/her chances of winning increase appreciably. The Lottery encourages everyone to play responsibly.
- If an electronic entry is selected, does the winner have to produce the tickets used for the electronic entry?
Yes. Players whose electronic entry is selected as a winner are required to hand-deliver within two business days the physical tickets that correspond with the winning electronic entry. If the winning tickets are not delivered to the Lottery within two business days, the electronic entry in question is deemed invalid and another entry will be designated as the winner of that drawing.
- Can I win more than one of the 12 prizes?
No. Individuals may enter as often as they like, but a particular player may only win one of the 12 2nd-chance prizes.
Winner Questions
- How are winners contacted?
Winners are contacted initially via telephone. Other means of contacting winners are employed, as needed, including overnight express mail.
- How much money do winners receive?
The 12 weekly 2nd-chance winners will go through a series of preliminary and/or finale-event contests through which their final prize amounts are determined. One (1) of the 12 weekly winners
will receive a prize of $1,000,000; five (5) weekly winners will each receive prizes of $100,000; the remaining six (6) winners will receive prizes that range from $25,000 to $150,000, depending on their contest results. All prizes will be awarded in one-time payments, less state and federal taxes.
- If I win one of the prizes, can I remain anonymous?
No. As a condition of claiming a prize, all Lottery winners agree to let the Lottery use their name and likeness for publicity purposes, and further agree to participate in publicity events.
