CHICAGO, IL—October 23, 2012— Elizabeth Diaz Lopez was sitting in her car in a store parking lot when she used a penny to scratch her “$500 A Week For Life” instant ticket and won a top prize. Lopez chose to take her Lottery prize in a $380,000 lump sum.
Lopez, 39, works nights at a factory. “I plan to use this money to help my family,” she said
“This is the only Lottery game I play. I buy this ticket because it seems easy to play and it really stands out to me,” Lopez said. She purchased her winning ticket at Three Amigas, located at 450 Liberty Street in Wauconda. For selling the winning ticket, Three Amigas will receive a bonus of $3,800 from the Lottery.
The Lottery offers a number of versions of the Cash for Life instant game including games with top prizes of $500, $1,000, $2,500 and $5,000 a-week-for-life. Last month, the Lottery launched its newest member of the Cash for Life family, 20X20. This instant game offers a top prize of $20,000 a week for 20 years. To date, 36 people have won top prizes in Cash For Life games.
