Carol Stream, IL—April 10, 2013 —“I think I have all the numbers… I do have all the numbers… I won the lottery!” Audrey Leonard shouted to her family when she realized she won a $300,000 Illinois Lottery prize. The lucky Carol Stream resident matched all five numbers – 03 – 17 – 23 – 26 – 30 – to win the jackpot in the March 10 Lucky Day Lotto drawing.
“This couldn’t have happened at a better time. I have four kids and my twin daughters want to go to college in the fall. Now, because of this win, they can.” Plans for the winnings include a vacation for Leonard, who has worked in the maintenance department of the Palatine Post Office for 15 years. “My last vacation was more than seven years ago. I’m overdue!”
Leonard is the second Carol Stream resident to recently win a Lucky Day Lotto jackpot prize. A Carol Stream man won $112,500 in the February 24 drawing with a Quick Pick ticket purchased at Carol Liquor and Tobacco, 1037 Fountain View Drive, in Carol Stream.
It was during her lunch break that Leonard bought her winning $1 Quick Pick ticket at Phillips 66, 830 East Northwest Highway, in Palatine. The retailer will receive a $3,000 bonus, equal to 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket. Jackpots for Lucky Day Lotto start at $100,000. Drawings are seven days a week with over 35,000 winners every day. That’s over 200,000 winners in Illinois every week! The Lucky Day Lotto drawing takes place every night at 9:22 p.m. For more information, please visit www.illinoislottery.com.
