Northlake, IL—August 22, 2013 — “I can’t believe my good luck,” Daniel Staron said when he presented his $1 million winning lottery ticket at the Illinois Lottery Prize Center in Des Plaines. The Northlake resident became an instant millionaire when he scratched a $250,000,000 Cash Spectacular lottery ticket.

Staron bought his winning $250,000,000 Cash Spectacular ticket at Ozzies Liquor and Deli, 11158 West Grand Avenue in Melrose Park. He was at home when he used a nickel to scratch it. “When I realized I won, I signed the back of my ticket right away,” he said. Staron is an independent residential painter. When asked about his plans for the windfall he said he will buy a house, invest and he added maybe take a much-needed rest.

Ozzies Liquor and Deli will receive a bonus of $10,000, equal to 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket. $250,000,000 Cash Spectacular offers $250,000,000 in prizes, including 30 top prizes of $1 million.
