Chicago, IL—August 19, 2013 — Ingrid Jackson was at the store buying groceries for her 94-year old grandmother when she decided to treat herself to an Illinois Lottery 20X The Cash instant ticket. Later that day while delivering the groceries, Jackson sat down at her grandmother’s kitchen table to scratch the ticket and instantly won $200,000. “It was the luckiest day of my life!”

“Initially I thought it was a $200 prize and I was happy. When I took a closer look I froze, realizing it was $200,000! I kept staring at the ticket to make sure it wasn’t my imagination!” she said. Jackson quickly signed the back of the ticket and called her mother to share the good news.

Jackson, a homecare professional, is a single mom with two daughters. Currently renting an apartment, she plans to buy a house for her family. “I’m going to have my grandmother come and live with us. She always took care of me and my mom, now I can take care of her.”

The winning ticket was sold at P&C Citgo, 3357 West Harrison in Chicago. For selling the winning ticket, the retailer will receive a bonus of $2,000, equal to 1 percent of the prize amount.

When asked if she had advice for other lottery players Jackson said, “My mom always said ‘Good things happen to good people.’ Be a good human being and blessings will come your way!”

20X The Cash is a $5 instant ticket from the Illinois Lottery with more than $29 million in prizes including six top prizes of $200,000. For more information, please visit www.illinoislottery.com.
