Glen Ellyn, IL—August 7, 2013 — When Connie Licona scratched a $5 The Good Life instant ticket and won $100, she decided to pocket $80 of her winnings and spend the remaining money on a 50X The Cash instant ticket. Sitting with some co-workers after her shift, this lucky waitress scratched her ticket and began jumping up and down. “I thought I won $4,000 and we were all so excited,” she said. It wasn’t until a few minutes later when Licona was signing the back of her ticket that she took a closer look and discovered she had actually won $4 million.

“All of the waitresses were screaming! I still can’t believe it,” Licona said. The Glen Ellyn resident has been a server at DuPage Inn in Downers Grove for six years. When asked if she plans to continue working she said, “I love my job and I love the people I work with. I’ll keep working but maybe I’ll cut back my hours a little.” Licona said her first purchase as a millionaire will be a new car for her mom. She also plans to share the winnings with her four children, six grandchildren, two sisters and her brother.

The winning ticket was purchased at Dupage Inn, 2410 West Ogden Avenue, in Downers Grove. The retailer will receive a $40,000 bonus, 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling a winning ticket.

50X The Cash is a $20 instant ticket with more than $45 million in prizes ranging from $50 to $100,000. For more information, please visit
