Chicago, IL—June 7, 2013 — “Seeing the $500 for Life symbol on my ticket left me speechless!” Jarmon Randolph said when he presented his winning $500 A Week for Life instant ticket at the Illinois Lottery Prize Center in Chicago. The Chicago resident said he never considered himself “especially lucky” until now.
“Right away I showed the ticket to my mother and she started screaming,” Randolph said. Once he double-checked the ticket and confirmed the win, Randolph immediately signed the back of the ticket and put it in a safe place. “Now, I no longer have to struggle. I am able to pay my bills and my tuition for home care worker training. Also, sharing this money with my mother, brother and sister will bring me much happiness.”
Randolph chose the one-time cash option of $380,000. When asked if he had any advice to offer other players he said, “Keep on playing! I wish the best of luck to everyone.” The winning ticket was purchased at Food & More, 246 West 43rd Street, in Chicago. The store will receive a $3,800 bonus, 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
The Lottery offers a number of versions of the Cash for Life instant game including games with top prizes of $500, $1,000, $2,500 and $5,000 a-week-for-life.
