Freeport, IL—June 6, 2013 — “I consider myself to be a very lucky person,” Randy Whitson said after winning a $375,000 Lucky Day Lotto jackpot prize. Whitson played his randomly-chosen numbers and matched all five winning numbers - 02 - 04 - 14 - 23 - 38 - in the May 2 drawing.

The lifelong Freeport resident currently lives in an apartment. “This lottery win means I can buy a house!” He also plans to invest for his son and daughter, and maybe buy a car.

Whitson bought his winning ticket at Road Ranger, 865 West Galena Avenue, in Freeport. “When I heard that the store sold a winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket, I checked the winning numbers at www.illinoislottery.com and found out that the big winner was me!” The retailer received a $3,750 bonus, equal to 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.

Jackpots for Lucky Day Lotto start at $100,000. Drawings are seven days a week with over 35,000 winners every day. That’s over 200,000 winners in Illinois every week! For more information, please visit www.illinoislottery.com.
