Chicago, IL—May 29, 2013 —“Crossword is my favorite game!” said Yvonne Steele after winning $75,000 on the Illinois Lottery’s popular instant game. Steele is a fan of playing Crossword because she believes there are more chances of winning. “Last year I won twice on Crossword for smaller prizes, and this time my family didn’t believe me when I told them I won $75,000 dollars,” Steele said.
The Chicago resident is a retiree from The Chicago Department of Transportation. Her plans with the windfall include providing financial assistance to her family, including helping her niece with her college tuition, and taking a trip to Aruba.
Prior to this, Steele’s largest lottery win was two $1,000 prizes on a $5 Crossword ticket. When asked if the lucky lottery winner had any advice for others, she said, “If you’re feeling lucky, play a couple of instant tickets...because you may win big like me!” The $75,000 winning ticket was purchased at Mobil, 850 East 63rd, in Chicago. The retailer will receive 1 percent of the prize, or $750 for selling the winning ticket.
Crossword is a $5 instant ticket offering prizes up to $75,000. For more information, please visit www.illinoislottery.com.
