Countryside, IL— November 4, 2013 — “I can’t believe I won $1million!” Charles Hessler said when he presented his $1million winning $4,000,000 Gold Bullion instant ticket at the Illinois Lottery Prize Center in Des Plaines. “I’m going to do some investing and do a little more fishing,” said the St. Petersburg, Florida resident.

Hessler, a retired mechanical engineer, was in Illinois visiting family when he bought his $4,000,000 Gold Bullion ticket. “I bought it because I like the look of this ticket and it’s exciting to have a chance to win $4,000,000.” He was sitting outside on a porch when he used a nickel to scratch the ticket and discovered his win. “I’ll remember that moment for a long time,” he said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Countryside Liquors, 5540 South Brainard Avenue in Countryside. The retailer will receive a bonus of $10,000, equal to 1 percent of the prize amount. Hessler chose the cash option payment of $600,000.
