CHICAGO, IL — October 16, 2013 — Two Illinois Lottery players hit it big recently in the Lottery’s newest draw game, Hit or Miss. True to the game’s name, one player won $250,000 by “hitting” all 12 numbers drawn, while a second player won the same prize by “missing” all 12 numbers in a subsequent drawing.

The first player matched all 12 numbers - 03 - 05 - 06 - 07 - 13 - 14 - 15 - 17 - 19 - 21 - 22 - 23 — (01) in the Friday, October 11 6:30 p.m. drawing to win $250,000. The winning ticket was purchased at LaSalle Beer & Cig Depot, 211 East Joliet Street, in Ottawa. The second lucky player won $250,000 by missing all 12 numbers in the Sunday October 13 10:30 a.m. drawing - 03 - 04 - 05 - 06 - 13 - 16 - 17 - 18 - 20 - 21 - 22 - 24 — (02). That winning ticket was purchased at Mickey’s One Stop, 1415 Plainfield Road, in Joliet. Lottery officials are waiting for both players to come forward and claim their prizes.

Both retailers will receive $2,500 — 1 percent of the prize amount — for selling the winning tickets.

Hit or Miss began on September 22 and costs $2 per game. Players win cash by matching 8 to 12 numbers --or matching 0 to 4 numbers—of the 24 numbers selected for each drawing. Players that win a $250,000 top prize can win an additional 20 annual payments of $100,000 by matching The Good Life number—a randomly generated number from 1 to 5. That’s a total potential prize of $2.25 million!

Drawings take place four times a day, seven days a week at 10:30 a.m., 12:40 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 9:22 p.m. Winning numbers are displayed on www.illinoislottery.com.
