Lisle, IL—October 8, 2013— “I can’t believe I won $275,000 with a $1 Quick Pick!” Dennis Murphy told Illinois Lottery staff when he presented his winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket at the Lottery Prize Center in Des Plaines. The lucky Lisle resident matched all five numbers — 08 — 09 — 17 — 18 — 20 — to win $275,000 in the September 23 evening Lucky Day Lotto drawing.

Murphy, 65, has lived in Lisle for 25 years. He works as a handyman and plans to retire next year. “Investing this windfall will make my retirement much easier.” When asked if he had advice for other lottery players he said, “Try a Quick Pick, it sure worked for me!”

The winning ticket was purchased at Dupage Inn, 2410 West Ogden Avenue in Downers Grove. The retailer will receive a $2,750 bonus, equal to 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket. This is the second big prize winning ticket recently sold by the Dupage Inn. In August they sold a $4million winning 50X The Cash instant lottery ticket.

Two $275,000 winning tickets shared the $550,000 Lucky Day Lotto jackpot on September 23. The other winning ticket, which was not a Quick Pick, was purchased at Columbia Mart, 506 North Main Street in Columbia. Jackpots for Lucky Day Lotto start at $100,000. Drawings are twice a day, seven days a week with over 40,000 winners every day. That’s over 250,000 winners in Illinois every week! For more information, please visit www.illinoislottery.com.
