Village of Lakewood, IL— January 29, 2014 — “I guess some days you get lucky,” John Tyrrell told Illinois Lottery staff when he presented his winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket at the Prize Center in Des Plaines. The Village of Lakewood resident won $175,000 when the numbers on his ticket — 06 — 07 — 15 — 27 — 36 — were an exact match in the January 17 Lucky Day Lotto midday drawing.
Tyrrell plans to donate some of the windfall to his favorite charities. “It’s important to give back to your community,” he said. He also plans to invest and take his wife and three children on a vacation.
Two $175,000 winning tickets split the $350,000 Lucky Day Lotto jackpot prize January 17. “It would have been nice to win the entire $350,000 jackpot but I’m not complaining. I have $175,000 more than I had yesterday!” Tyrrell bought his winning ticket at Convenient Food Mart, 201 East Virginia Street in Crystal Lake. The other $175,000 winning ticket was also a Quick Pick and was purchased at Kankakee BP Fast N Fresh, 1860 East Court Street in Kankakee. Both retailers will receive a $1,750 bonus, equal to 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling a winning ticket.
Jackpots for Lucky Day Lotto start at $100,000. Drawings are twice a day, seven days a week with over 40,000 winners every day. That’s over 250,000 winners in Illinois every week! For more information, please visit www.illinoislottery.com.
