LIBERTYVILLE, IL – March 8, 2012 – A Grayslake man was presented with a ceremonial check today for $1,000,000 from the Illinois Lottery's Deputy Superintendent, Victor Golden. DeCount Bell, Sr. bought his Gold Bullion instant ticket at Car Spa Shell in Libertyville.

Bell, Sr, who is the first to claim one of the first million dollar prizes from the Gold Bullion instant game, is extremely grateful for his winnings. "The first thing I did was thanked Jehovah God right away," he said. He now feels that life has gotten a little sweeter for him and his beloved wife. "The difference between today and before is that we can now relax because our retirement is somewhat more secured," he added.

Mr. and Mrs. Bell, Sr. are planning to put some of their winnings into their savings. Of course, there will be a little R&R for the couple as they start planning a little get-away on a Chi-lanta Caribbean cruise later this year.
Bell, Sr. will continue to play the Illinois Lottery, in particular, scratch games. "I like the Lottery's brand new games and of course was attracted to Gold Bullion. When it first came out, I really liked it. It's a great game. I will continue to play the Lottery, that's for sure because I plan on winning again," he stated with a big grin on his face.

Car Spa Shell received a $10,000 bonus, one percent of the jackpot amount, for selling a winning ticket. Bill Seitz, owner, was thrilled when he heard the news that his Car Spa Shell had sold a winning Gold Bullion ticket but could not believe it. Mr. Bell came in to thank him and to tell him that Seitz had sold him a $1 million dollar ticket. "At first, I did not believe it and just laughed," Seitz said. "Everyone knows Mr. Bell around here and I am glad that it was a loyal customer. I think that it will build real value for our customers in knowing that they can come in and get a good car wash, gas and win a million dollars!" he exclaimed.

As with all lottery games, proceeds from instant tickets benefit the Common School Fund and the Capital Projects Fund. Last year, the Lottery transferred $690 million to the support education, capital projects and other good causes. To date, the Illinois Lottery has contributed over $17 billion to support education in Illinois and public works.
