Chicago, IL—December 10, 2012— “People always say they play the lottery without the expectation of winning big money, but I always knew I’d hit it big,” said Jorge Arias. This lucky Lottery player won $250,000 playing Mega Millions when he matched the first five numbers – 09 - 13 - 22 - 38 - 52 - (44) – in the Tuesday, November 20 drawing.

“When I saw that my numbers matched, I couldn’t stop screaming.  My wife, Cenith, came to see what was wrong with me and I told her we won the lottery! The look on her face was priceless,” he said.

Arias, a retired CTA bus driver, said he plans to pay some bills, enjoy retirement and go on a nice Columbian vacation with his lottery win. “I’m originally from Columbia so it’ll be nice to visit this year with no worries,” he said. “I just thank God for blessing me with this win.”

The father of three adult children purchased his winning ticket at 7-Eleven located at 2323 West Lawrence in Chicago. The retailer will receive a $2,500 bonus, 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling a winning ticket. Mega Millions drawing takes place Tuesday and Friday nights at 10:00 p.m. The current estimated jackpot is $20 million. For more information, please visit
