Toluca, IL—August 19, 2014 — Tammy Mann won $150,000 with a Lucky Day Lotto ticket she bought by mistake.  “I asked the clerk for a $1 Lotto Quick Pick ticket and when I got home I realized she had given me a Lucky Day Lotto ticket instead,” Mann told staff at the Illinois Lottery Prize Center in Springfield.  The lucky Toluca resident won a $150,000 jackpot prize when her ticket matched all five numbers – 08 – 21 – 22 – 34 – 39 – in the June 26 Lucky Day Lotto evening drawing.

Mann has been an occasional Illinois Lottery player for 14 years.  “I’ve never won anything before; I can’t believe I won $150,000 because of a mistake!”  While at a gas station a few days after the drawing, Mann checked her ticket using the self-serve scanner.  When the message “file a claim” appeared on the screen, she asked the clerk to tell her what she’d won.  “I was so shocked when she told me, I had to sit down!”

The lifetime Central Illinois resident and her husband, David, have blended their families for a total of nine children and eleven grandchildren, with two more grandchildren on the way.  They plan to put the windfall toward the purchase of a new house.

The winning ticket was purchased at Freedom Oil, 402 North Main Street in Toluca.  The retailer will receive a $1,500 bonus, equal to 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.

Lucky Day Lotto drawings are twice a day, seven days a week and now offer bigger and better prizes for the same price, with the same draw times. For more information, please visit www.illinoislottery.com.
