POWERBALL GIVES PLAYERS THE CHANCE TO MULTIPLY THEIR WINNINGS

Chicago, IL— January 22, 2014 — Starting with tonight’s Powerball drawing, players will have the chance to multiply non-jackpot winning prizes up to five times with the return of the enhanced Powerball Power Play multiplier.

The enhanced Power Play option will remain $1 but, rather than a fixed prize, players will now have a chance to win prizes multiplied 2, 3, 4 or 5 times. Winning the Match 5 prize (all five white balls) with the Power Play option will pay $2 million, regardless of the multiplier number drawn.

Powerball offers many appealing features to players, including jackpots that grow bigger, faster. The starting jackpot is $40 million, and the second prize for matching all five numbers, without the Powerball, is $1 million. The multi-state game is currently played in 45 jurisdictions: 43 states, Washington, D.C. and the Virgin Islands.
