Filomeno Barco
Filomeno proudly enlisted in the U.S. Army and served 3 years. Stationed in Frankfurt, Germany he supervised, served and assisted team members during combat situations. His expertise included infantry, artillery and tankers.
Sanford “Sandy” Lykins III
Sanford enlisted with the U.S. Navy and served for six years. He supervised electrical systems for nuclear reactors during the Vietnam War. Sanford believes the key takeaway from his time in the Navy is to continue to learn and use what was learned to help others.

Andrea M. Holloway
Andrea joined the U.S. Air Force in 1988 and served 4 years. She trained and worked in Misawa, Japan until she was deployed to serve in the Gulf War. Upon returning home, Andrea joined Thresholds in Chicago, Illinois where she currently works assisting homeless Veterans.
Vickie L. Washington
In 1988 Vickie enlisted in the U.S. Army. While stationed in Germany she prepared meals for soldiers, and after an honorable discharge she continued to help others at Volunteers of America and the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago.

Emanuel Salazal
In 2008 Emanuel joined the United States Marines and deployed to Mainland, Japan. He worked in motor transportation and was responsible for delegating orders to junior troops. After attending College of Dupage, he joined The Veterans Group to help Veterans transition from service to college.
Stewart L. Smith
Stewart served for 4 years in the U.S. Navy. He supervised equipment operation for the U.S.S. Radford and U.S.S. Dahlgren, Fleet Deception Group – Atlantic. Stewart recommends military service to any young person who has not defined a life objective, affirming that it will prompt growth.
