October 23, 2012 – Chicago IL – Carol Lange is the Lottery’s newest Lucky Day Lotto winner. The Chicago resident bought a $1 Quick Pick and matched all five numbers – 01 - 03 – 12 – 20 – 30 – in the October 17 drawing and won $550,000.

“I recently went to the bank to refinance my house, but now I can pay it off completely,” Lange said. “I’ve always had a feeling I would win big someday, but I’m still shocked.”  When asked her advice for other lottery players she said, “I say keep trying, your numbers just might come in someday.”

In addition to paying off her mortgage, Lange, a team leader in the mail room for the Central States Pension Fund, also plans to use her winnings for some remodeling projects and a new car.  “This is great timing because my car is falling apart,” she said.

Lange visited Butera Foods located at 4411 North Cumberland in Norridge to buy a gallon of milk and decided to spend some of her change on a lottery ticket.  “I’m so glad I did!” she said.  The store will receive a $5,500 bonus from the Lottery for selling the winning ticket.

Jackpots for Lucky Day Lotto start at $100,000. Drawings are seven days a week with over 35,000 winners every day.  That’s over 200,000 winners in Illinois every week! The Lucky Day Lotto drawing takes place every night at 9:22 p.m. For more information, please visit www.illinoislottery.com.
