For Immediate Release Contact: Chanele Newton 312-368-5814

Palos Hills, IL—December 12, 2012— Daniel Lesniak loves a good crossword puzzle, so when he saw the Illinois Lottery’s $75,000 Crossword game, he decided to give it a try. “Crossword games are fun to me and I play them often in the newspaper. $75,000 Crossword is the only lottery game I play, and now it has definitely paid off!” he exclaimed after scratching and winning the top prize in the popular instant game.

Lesniak was at home when he scratched his ticket. “I thought I’d won $10,000, so I signed the back of the ticket and tucked it away,” Lesniak said. The following morning, he went to a lottery retailer and asked the clerk to scan his ticket to make sure he had won $10,000. “I freaked out when the clerk told me I had won $75,000!  I just couldn’t believe it,” he said. Still in disbelief, Lesniak told his brothers Ralph and Matt who then accompanied him to another store to double check the ticket. “I had to make sure that the machine in the first store wasn’t pulling a fast one on me,” he said.

Lesniak, who has only been playing the lottery for a year, says he is extremely excited about his lottery win. “The most I won before this was $100. I honestly don’t even know what I want to do with this prize!” he exclaimed.  One thing’s for sure, this Lottery winner wants everyone to know he’s excited. “I’m going to smile really big for my picture,” Lesniak said.  “I want to look like I just won the lottery!”

This lucky Palos Hills resident purchased his winning ticket at Jewel Osco located at 9528 South Roberts Road in Hickory Hills. The retailer will receive a $750 bonus, 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling a winning ticket. $75,000 Crossword is a $5 instant ticket that currently has great prizes to be won.
