CHICAGO, IL—February 13, 2013 – Adults looking to find a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow will soon be able to try their luck at winning one of 509 available prizes in the Illinois Lottery’s popular St. Patrick’s Day Millionaire Raffle. Tickets go on sale this Friday at more than 8,100 retailers throughout the state, and will remain on sale through March 17th or until the 500,000 available tickets are sold out.
The St. Patrick’s Day Millionaire Raffle – a game that usually sells out early – offers players a chance to win one of four (4) $1 million prizes, five (5) $100,000 prizes and five-hundred (500) $1,000 prizes. This is the 12th time the Illinois Lottery has offered a Raffle game since 2007.
St. Patrick’s Day Raffle is played like a typical raffle game with a finite number of tickets and prizes. Each $20 raffle ticket, available only at brick and mortar lottery retailers, contains a unique number generated by the Lottery terminal. Raffle tickets are sold in sequential order throughout the state beginning at 12:01 a.m. on February 15 with ticket number 000001 and ending with ticket number 500,000. To win one of the 509 prizes, a player’s raffle ticket must exactly match one of the 509 winning numbers selected. If the raffle game does not sell out, the selection of 509 winners will still take place, with winners selected from the pool of sold tickets.
This year’s St. Patrick’s Day Raffle drawing will be held on March 17, 2013. Winning raffle numbers will be available on the Illinois Lottery’s website atwww.illinoislottery.com.
There are still numerous unclaimed prizes from last year’s St. Patrick’s Day Raffle drawing. Players who purchased a ticket for last year’s St. Patrick’s Day Raffle are encouraged to check the Lottery website to see whether they may be holding a ticket worth up to $1 million! Still unclaimed is a winning $1 million raffle ticket purchased for last year’s drawing at TJVS Marathon, 389 East Irving Park Road in Wood Dale. In addition, there are some 25 raffle prizes of $1,000 each not yet claimed from the last St. Pat’s drawing. All 2012 St. Pat’s Raffle prizes expire at midnight on March 17, 2013.
