Bloomington, IL—September 26, 2013— “Keep on playing, it pays!” George Patterson said when asked if he had any advice for other lottery players. Patterson won $350,000 with a $1 Lucky Day Lotto Quick Pick when the numbers on his ticket — 05 — 11 — 16 — 21 — 37 — were an exact match in the September 4 evening drawing.
Patterson, 69, is a lifetime resident of Bloomington. He served in the United States Army prior to working for 15 years in the service department at The Eureka Company. Now retired, he is an avid fisherman and plans to use some of his winnings to buy a boat and a new car.
A regular lottery player, Patterson said he likes to try different games and his biggest win before this was $5,000 he won playing Pick 4. “I always hoped to win, but I never thought I would win this big!” He bought his winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket at Circle K, 515 South Clinton Street in Bloomington. The retailer will receive a $3,500 bonus, equal to 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
Jackpots for Lucky Day Lotto start at $100,000. Drawings are now twice a day, seven days a week with over 40,000 winners every day. That’s over 250,000 winners in Illinois every week! For more information, please visit www.illinoislottery.com.
