Cahokia, IL— November 4, 2013 — “Because of this lottery win, I am going to be debt-free and it feels great!” Charlene Garner said when she presented her winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket at the Illinois Lottery Prize Center in Fairview Heights. The lucky Cahokia resident won $200,000 when the numbers on her ticket — 01 — 11 — 12 — 21 — 22 — were an exact match in the October 25 Lucky Day Lotto midday drawing.
Garner said she used family birthdays as her Lucky Day Lotto numbers. She discovered her win the day after the drawing when she used her cell phone to look up the winning numbers at www.illinoislottery.com. “I like to play and always hoped I would win, but I never expected to win a prize this big!”
The winning ticket was purchased at Route 3 Liquor and Lottery, 2400 Mississippi Avenue in Sauget. The retailer received a $2,000 bonus, equal to 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
Jackpots for Lucky Day Lotto start at $100,000. Drawings are twice a day, seven days a week with over 40,000 winners every day. That’s over 250,000 winners in Illinois every week! For more information, please visit www.illinoislottery.com.
