Des Plaines, IL—March 7, 2013—On a Saturday afternoon Reynaldo Rivera used a quarter to scratch his Blues Bingo lottery ticket and instantly became $200,000 richer. “I just play this game for fun. I never expect to win the top prize -- I’m shocked!”
Rivera went out to buy a newspaper and decided to purchase a Blues Bingo ticket too. He was in the store parking lot when he scratched the ticket and realized his big win. “I was so excited about winning that I forgot my newspaper – I had to go back and get it!” Rivera has lived in Des Plaines for 15 years and is a machine operator at a local printing company. His plans for the winnings include investing for retirement and travelling to Asia to visit family.
The winning ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven, 2579 Ballard Road in Des Plaines. The store will receive a $2,000 bonus, 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling a winning ticket. Blues Bingo is a $5 instant ticket with a top prize of $200,000. For more information, please visit www.illinoislottery.com.
