Hoffman Estates, IL— January 16, 2013— Ron Sienkiewicz woke up early on New Year’s Day, made a cup of coffee, and sat down at his computer to check the weather and to check the winning Lucky Day Lotto numbers on the Illinois Lottery website.  That’s when he did a New Year’s Day double-take. “I was shocked to see the numbers on my ticket match the numbers on the screen,” Sienkiewicz said after matching all five numbers – 06 – 15 – 17 – 18 – 38 – in the December 31 drawing and winning the $200,000 jackpot prize.  “I woke up my wife to tell her we won the Lottery.  What a way to start the New Year!”

Sienkiewicz immediately signed the back of his winning ticket and put the ticket under the mouse pad on his desk for safekeeping.   Then he and his wife Cindy took their four children and four grandchildren out for dinner to celebrate the win.  “Our kids are very excited for us.”   The Hoffman Estates resident plans to use some of the windfall to take the whole family on a vacation.  “Cindy and I haven’t had a vacation in 10 years and we would love to spend some time with our family, preferably on a beach.”   He also plans to invest for retirement.

The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at Mobil Gas, 810 North Roselle Road in Hoffman Estates.  The store received a $2,000 bonus, 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.

Jackpots for Lucky Day Lotto start at $100,000. Drawings are seven days a week with over 35,000 winners every day. That’s over 200,000 winners in Illinois every week! The Lucky Day Lotto drawing takes place every night at 9:22 p.m. For more information, please visit
