Chicago, IL—May 16, 2013 —Jennifer Serrano is the Illinois Lottery’s newest Lucky Day Lotto winner. The Chicago resident from Humboldt Park bought a $1 Quick Pick and matched all five — 04 - 05 - 14 - 26 - 39 — on the same day of the April 20 drawing and won $175,000.

“I turned on the TV to check my numbers not thinking at all I would be a winner. When they were announced, I realized the numbers sounded familiar. My heart almost stopped. I immediately wrote them down and gave the ticket to my husband to compare. We were shocked and excited at the same time. The first person I called was my dad, and then my mom,” Jennifer said. “My advice to others is: ‘you can’t win if you don’t play!’”

Jennifer, a recent bride, said the win is timed perfectly. “Our dream was to celebrate our honeymoon in Puerto Rico. This win will make it possible! We will also use the winnings to build a house and help our families.” The lucky Chicago resident purchased her winning ticket at Snappy Convenience Center, located at 1750 North Western. The retailer will receive a $1,750 bonus, 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling a winning ticket.

Jackpots for Lucky Day Lotto start at $100,000. Drawings are seven days a week with over 35,000 winners every day. That’s over 200,000 winners in Illinois every week! The Lucky Day Lotto drawing takes place every night at 9:22 p.m. For more information, please visit
