Du Quoin, IL—August 27, 2013 — The Du Quoin State Fair kicked off last week to a great start and one lucky Illinois Lottery player will be there “for the party” as country music sensation, Gretchen Wilson, takes the Illinois Lottery Grandstand stage tomorrow night.
As a part of its Anything’s Possible Music Series, the Illinois Lottery will create an unforgettable experience for Mark Grigiski of Riverton, his fiancée, Lisa, and two of his friends. Grigiski won a private “Meet and Greet” with Wilson along with a hotel stay, limousine transportation to the concert, an autographed guitar and $500 in spending money.
“I can’t believe I get to meet Gretchen Wilson!” Grigiski exclaimed. He entered the Illinois Lottery Music Series sweepstakes when he attended the Illinois State Fair in Springfield earlier this month. “I bought a few lottery tickets and someone at the tent told me about the concert series and how to enter. It was a breeze and I am so excited I won,” he said.
Grigiski, an entrepreneur who owns several local businesses including Northern Quest Properties, rarely takes time out for himself. He looks forward to spending some quality time with his fiancée and their friends tomorrow night. “We’re going to make a great trip out of this. I’ve never been to Du Quoin and this will be all of our first time attending the Du Quoin State Fair. We are also looking forward to visiting some of the local vineyards while we’re out here. It’s been a while since any of us have been able to just get away and do something strictly for ourselves.”
Grigiski has been a fan of Wilson since her 2004 debut and loves the Redneck Woman video. “Seeing her ride around on ATV’s in the mud, without a care in the world, is so cool. My favorite song is Here for the Party and I can’t wait to watch my fiancée sing along to that song; she loves it too,” he said.
Founded in 1974, the Illinois Lottery has contributed over $18 billion to the state’s Common School Fund to assist K-12 public schools, as well as hundreds of millions of dollars to the Capital Projects Fund and to special causes like Illinois Veterans, the fight against breast cancer, MS research, and assistance for people living with HIV/AIDS.
