Lincolnwood, IL—March 21, 2013—“I am very thankful for this Lottery win,” Martin Tammo said after winning a $100,000 Lucky Day Lotto jackpot prize. The Lincolnwood resident’s $1 Quick Pick ticket matched all five numbers — 07 - 23 - 32 - 34 - 36 — in the March 4 drawing.
Tammo first checked the winning Lucky Day Lotto numbers at a gas station, then, just to make sure, he logged onto the Illinois Lottery website to check again. “I wanted to be 100% sure before I told my wife and my mom.” He plans to spend some of the winnings on a family vacation and invest in his son’s college fund. Tammo’s Lottery check will be for $70,000 after required state and federal withholding.
When asked if he had any advice for others Tammo said, “Try the lottery. You really can win big with just one dollar.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Shell Foods, 2494 Oakton Street in Evanston. The retailer will receive a $1,000 bonus, equal to 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket. Jackpots for Lucky Day Lotto start at $100,000. Drawings are seven days a week with over 35,000 winners every day. That’s over 200,000 winners in Illinois every week! The Lucky Day Lotto drawing takes place every night at 9:22 p.m. For more information, please visit www.illinoislottery.com.
