Granite City, IL—September 24, 2013— “I am on cloud nine! I feel like I’m a foot off the ground! I love the Illinois Lottery!” Frank Brown told Illinois Lottery staff when he presented his winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket at the Prize Center in Fairview Heights. The lucky Olivette, Missouri, resident won a $450,000 jackpot prize when the numbers on his ticket — 03 — 07 — 10 — 28 — 30 — were an exact match in the August 26 Lucky Day Lotto midday drawing.

Brown said he buys Illinois Lottery tickets whenever he is in Illinois, playing the same numbers for more than 30 years. His winning numbers were his wife’s birthdate, his birthdate and the date of their wedding anniversary. He purchased his winning ticket at Curly’s Corner Market, 5527 Maryville Road in Granite City. The retailer received a $4,500 bonus, equal to 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.

To celebrate his Lucky Day Lotto win Brown plans to host a big party for his four children, eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and his neighbors. He plans to use his winnings to buy a car, invest and possibly travel to Alaska to visit his 91 year old uncle. He will also donate to his local food bank. “Whenever I can give to the food bank, I give.”

When asked if he had any advice for other lottery players, Brown said, “Live within your means; play the lottery for fun.”

Jackpots for Lucky Day Lotto start at $100,000. Drawings are now twice a day, seven days a week with over 40,000 winners every day. That’s over 250,000 winners in Illinois every week! For more information, please visit www.illinoislottery.com.
