Naperville, IL—September 4, 2013 — Winning a $250,000 Mega Millions prize is “Amazing!” according to Juan Ruiz, who matched the first five numbers – 01 - 11 - 16 - 51 - 55 - (41) – in the Tuesday August 6 drawing.
Ruiz was at home when he checked the winning Mega Millions numbers on illinoislottery.com. “I couldn’t believe it! I was so surprised. Of course, I always hoped to win but I never really thought I would.” Ruiz and his wife have two children. They have lived in Naperville for six years. Their plans for the windfall are to invest and share some of the money with members of their family.
A regular Mega Millions player, Ruiz buys his tickets for 15 consecutive drawings. He purchased his winning ticket at Mobil, 1280 West Ogden Avenue in Naperville. The retailer will receive a $2,500 bonus, 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
