Streator, IL— November 4, 2013 — “I can’t believe I won a quarter of a million dollars with a Quick Pick!” David Branz said when he presented his winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket at the Illinois Lottery Prize Center in Springfield. The lucky Streator resident matched all five numbers — 04 — 07 — 18 — 29 — 39 — to win $250,000 in the October 17 Lucky Day Lotto evening drawing.
Branz, 30, has lived in Streator for 25 years. He plans to use the windfall to buy a rural home with enough land for horses, and invest in a college fund for his one year old son. When asked if he had advice for other lottery players he said, “Try a Quick Pick because you just might be in the right place at the right time and end up winning big!”
The winning ticket was purchased and validated at Cigarette Express, 105 East Sumner Street in Streator. “It’s the only store where I play lottery and check my tickets,” said Branz. Cigarette Express will receive a $2,500 bonus, equal to 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
Jackpots for Lucky Day Lotto start at $100,000. Drawings are twice a day, seven days a week with over 40,000 winners every day. That’s over 250,000 winners in Illinois every week! For more information, please visit www.illinoislottery.com.
