His winning ticket, a $1 Quick Pick, matched all five numbers – 01 – 24 – 30 – 34 – 38 – in the January 26 Lucky Day Lotto drawing. Taylor was one of three $133,333.33 Lucky Day Lotto winners on January 26.
Taylor had a few Lucky Day Lotto tickets in his pocket when he stopped at a gas station to check them. “I had a feeling I may have won $1,000 so I wanted to check my tickets. I couldn’t believe it when I saw the amount of my prize!” The Maywood resident plans to use his winnings to pay bills and buy his wife Eleanor a new car.
When asked if he had any advice for other lottery players Taylor said, “Play for fun! And you don’t have to focus on the big prize, be happy with the little wins too.”
The winning ticket was purchased at O’Hare Shell, 4111 North Manheim Road, in Schiller Park. The store received a bonus of $1,333 for selling the winning ticket. After required state and federal withholding, Taylor will receive a check for $93,333.10
