West Chicago, IL— November 25, 2013 — For Scott Rice, winning the lottery was a dream come true – literally! "Two weeks ago I had a dream that I scratched a lottery ticket and won millions. It was so real that I woke up and looked around for the ticket!" The lucky West Chicago resident won $4million when he scratched an Illinois Millions instant lottery ticket.

Rice bought his winning ticket after a friendly chat with a security guard at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. “He told me that the local 7-Eleven sold a $2,000 winning Illinois Millions ticket so I thought I should try my luck there and buy one.” Rice scratched his ticket in the store. “I always thought I’d win someday but I still couldn’t believe it!” After having the clerk double check the winning ticket, Rice immediately signed the back of it and carefully drove home.

Rice has lived in West Chicago for 15 years and plans to keep his sales job at the electrical supply company where he has worked for 30 years. He is married with four children. Plans for the windfall include investing and sharing with his family. "We’ll also donate to charity because we believe it’s important to give back."

The winning ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven, 0S027 Winfield Road in Winfield. The retailer will receive a $40,000 bonus, 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket. Rice chose the one-time cash option payment of $2,400,000 prior to withholding.
