Chicago, IL—April 25, 2014 —Dreams of owning Blackhawks season tickets are now reality for a lucky Illinois resident. Heather Woodward, of Grayslake, was among over 58,000 Illinoisans that entered the Illinois Lottery and Chicago Blackhawks Text-to-Win promotion hoping to score 2014-2015 season tickets.  With just one winner awarded the coveted prize and a record number of entries, Woodward beat the odds and will have the pleasure of attending every regular season hockey game hosted at the United Center next season, proving ‘Anything’s Possible’ with the Illinois Lottery.

Fans were able to enter the Text-to-Win contest whether they were at the United Center or at home by watching the Blackhawks’ and the Illinois Lottery’s social media pages for a special message they could text to BHAWKS (242957). Woodward, unable to attend the game due to a scheduling conflict, entered the contest from home. She couldn’t believe her luck when she found out she’d won. “I got a call from the Blackhawks and I recognized the number because I’d talked to them when I rented out a suite this year for my 40th birthday. I thought they were calling to get me to rent another suite and instead I got the best news of my life! I’m now a Blackhawks season ticket holder,” she said.

A self-proclaimed “die-hard Blackhawks fan,” Woodward attends dozens of games each season and even watches Blackhawks games while she’s on vacation. She’s been trying for years to buy season tickets. “I’ve been on the season tickets waiting list for quite a while now so this win is a dream come true!” she exclaimed. “I am forever grateful to the Illinois Lottery and the Chicago Blackhawks for this great prize. I can’t wait to attend next year’s games.”

Woodward plans to take her husband along with her to watch the Blackhawks battle it out on the ice against various opponents. When he can’t attend, she’ll take a friend or a family member. “This win is extra special to me because I’m a Blackhawks fan tried and true,” she said. “It’ll be great to bring my family and friends along to these games.”

The Illinois Lottery and the Chicago Blackhawks kicked off this year’s Text-to-Win contest with a chance for a fan to win access to the pre-game press conference on November 14. Other prizes in the Text-to-Win contest included an all-expense paid trip for two to travel to see the Blackhawks play a select away game, two suite tickets to watch the game alongside Blackhawks Ambassadors accompanied by two Zamboni rides and passes to the 2014 Chicago Blackhawks Fan Convention. The April 9 Text-to-Win contest, won by Woodward, was the last joint promotion of the season where fans could opt in from home or in the arena.
