Chicago, IL – April 9, 2014 – Tonight, as part of a special text-to-win promotion, the Illinois Lottery and the Chicago Blackhawks are teaming up to reward one lucky hockey fan season tickets to next year’s Chicago Blackhawks home games (2014-2015 season). Whether fans are seated in the United Center or on their couch, Blackhawks fans can participate in this exciting promotion by sending a text message to win this exclusive prize during tonight’s game, when the Blackhawks battle it out against the Canadians at the United Center.
Last year’s Text-to-Win contest offered a similar prize of season tickets for the current hockey season. That coveted prize was won by mega Blackhawks fan, Christian Esposito, 21 from St. Charles (no relation to the legendary Blackhawk goalie, Tony Esposito) who says he’s been a fan since the day he was born. “This was the best thing I’ve ever won!” exclaimed Esposito. “I just want to thank the Illinois Lottery and the Chicago Blackhawks for this amazing experience. Every game has been awesome!”
Fans can get in on tonight’s prize by watching the Blackhawks’ and the Illinois Lottery’s social media pages to receive a special message that they can then text to BHAWKS (242957). Throughout the day, Comcast SportsNet will air commercials and LIVE drop-ins encouraging fans to enter the promotion. Blackhawks fans will see similar messages during the game on their TV screens and on the United Center Jumbotron. After fans text the number for a chance to win, they will receive a unique number in the form of a return text message. The reveal of the unique, winning-season-tickets number will take place during the second period of tonight’s game.
The Illinois Lottery and the Chicago Blackhawks kicked off this year’s Text-to-Win contest with a chance for a fan to win access to the pre-game press conference on November 14. Other prizes in the Text-to-Win contest included an all-expense paid trip for two to travel to see the Blackhawks play a select away game, two club level tickets accompanied by two Zamboni rides and passes to the 2014 Chicago Blackhawks Fan Convention.
