McHenry, IL—August 1, 2014— Every morning before work, United States Postal Service employee Candi Reasinger stops at the store to buy a drink and sometimes also buys an Illinois Lottery Instant ticket.   “I like to sit in my car in the parking lot and scratch a ticket, and then I go into work.”  The lucky McHenry resident was recently following her morning routine when she chose a Fabulous Fortune ticket, used her “lucky quarter” to scratch it, and instantly won $1million.

“When I saw the $1,000,000 prize amount I couldn’t believe it.  I think I was in shock! I just slowly put the ticket in my purse and calmly went into work.”  A mail carrier for 26 years, Reasinger has been considering retiring. “I was thinking of retiring so I could spend more time with my family.  Now, because of this Lottery win, I can.  I am so grateful!”

Reasinger has lived in McHenry for 20 years.  She is married with three children and six grandchildren.  When asked if she had advice for other players she said, “If you feel lucky, you should try a ticket.”

The winning Fabulous Fortune ticket was purchased out of the lottery self-service machine at Mech Mart Marathon, 4608 West Crystal Lake Road in McHenry.  Mech Mart Marathon will receive a $10,000 bonus, equal to 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.  Today, Illinois Lottery officials commemorated the win by presenting Reasinger a ceremonial check for $1,000,000 and Mech Mart Marathon a ceremonial check for $10,000.

Fabulous Fortune is a $20 instant ticket with a top prize of $4,000,000.  There are still five $1,000,000 prizes and three $4,000,000 prizes unclaimed.  For more information, please visit www.illinoislottery.com.
