Hazel Crest, IL—February 25, 2014 — “I knew playing family birthdates would pay off someday!” Aubrey McGraw told Illinois Lottery staff when she presented her winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket at the Prize Center in Chicago. McGraw has been playing the birthdays of her nieces and nephews for the past six years feeling confident they would hit some day. The lucky Hazel Crest resident won $100,000 when the numbers on her ticket – 05 – 09 – 23 – 30 – 31 – were an exact match in the February 17 Lucky Day Lotto evening drawing.
McGraw is married with two children. Her plans for the $100,000 windfall include investing in college funds for her children and fulfilling their dream of going to Disney World. When asked if she had any advice for other players she said, “Stick with your favorite numbers. One day you might get lucky like me!”
The winning ticket was purchased at Hazel Crest BP Amoco, 17460 Kedzie Avenue in Chicago. The retailer received a $1,000 bonus, equal to 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
Jackpots for Lucky Day Lotto start at $100,000. Drawings are twice a day, seven days a week with an average of 40,000 winners every day. That’s over 250,000 winners in Illinois each week! For more information, please visit www.illinoislottery.com.
