Rockford, IL—February 21, 2014 — “I always ask for a Quick Pick instead of choosing my own numbers and it sure paid off!” Becky Haddad said when she presented her winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket at the Illinois Lottery Prize Center in Rockford. Haddad won the $300,000 jackpot prize when her Quick Pick ticket matched all five numbers – 01 – 02 - 07 – 14 – 26 – in the February 17 Lucky Day Lotto midday drawing.
The lifelong Rockford resident discovered her win when she heard that the Loves Park Clark gas station sold a big winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket. “That’s the only place I buy lottery tickets, so I immediately went there to get the winning numbers.” She was “shocked” to see that the numbers on her ticket were an exact match. When asked about her plans for the windfall Haddad said, “I’m going to put it in the bank until this sinks in!”
The winning ticket was purchased at Loves Park Clark, 5710 North 2nd Street in Loves Park. The retailer received a $3,000 bonus, equal to 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
Jackpots for Lucky Day Lotto start at $100,000. Drawings are twice a day, seven days a week with an average of 40,000 winners every day. That’s over 250,000 winners in Illinois each week! For more information, please visit www.illinoislottery.com.
