Burnham, IL— May 13, 2014 — “Thanks to this lottery win I will be able to surprise my son with a special birthday present!” Tywon Terrell said when he presented his winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket at the Illinois Lottery Prize Center in Chicago. Terrell won the $100,000 jackpot prize when he played a Quick Pick ticket and matched all five numbers – 03 - 05 - 17 - 21 – 34 – in the Sunday, April 20 midday drawing.
The lucky Burnham resident bought his ticket on Easter Sunday morning. Later that day he used his cell phone to check the winning Lucky Day Lotto numbers on www.iilinoislottery.com and discovered he’d won $100,000. “I can’t wait to tell my son his birthday present will be a vacation in Texas. It will be his first time on a plane!”
Terrell, 34, is a single dad and works in the building materials industry. His plans for the windfall also include sharing with family. When asked if he had any advice for others he said, “Think positive.”
The winning ticket was purchased at South Holland AMPM, 951 East 162nd Street in South Holland. The retailer will receive a $1,000 bonus, equal to 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
