CHANNAHON, IL — January 2, 2018 — Channahon resident Thomas Lewis won $1,300,000 when his Lucky Day Lotto ticket matched all five numbers – 14, 18, 27, 31 and 45 – in the Wednesday, December 20, evening drawing.
Lewis decided to play on a whim, but his big win couldn’t have come at a better time. He has been in the process of buying a new house and already planned on taking his family to Disney World. “It feels meant to be! Everything was telling me to buy a Quick Pick,” said Lewis. “Being able to pay for the house and the trip without a worry is the celebration!”
He also plans on investing for his family’s future.
Lewis bought his $1,300,000 winning Lucky Day Lotto Quick Pick ticket at USA Liquors, 25228 W. Reed St., in Channahon. The retailer received a bonus of $13,000, or one percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
More than 35,000 players won prizes ranging from $1 to $200 in this Lucky Day Lotto drawing. Lucky Day Lotto drawings are twice a day, seven days a week. For more information, please visit www.illinoislottery.com.
