Shantell of Woodstock, Illinois is celebrating after winning $50,000 on a King Crossword Instant Ticket.

The exciting moment was a family affair. Shantell’s husband, a long-time lottery player, bought the winning ticket and gave it to her.

“We were just at home, and he walked in with a ticket and asked me to scan it,” Shantell recalled.

When the Illinois Lottery app revealed the $50,000 prize, the couple could hardly believe it.

“We were screaming and hollering! It took about a minute for it to really sink in.” she said.

The prize will help the couple reach a goal they’ve been working toward for years.

“We plan to buy a house—something we’ve been talking about for 21 years,” Shantell shared.
