Chicago Resident Wins $950,000 Jackpot

CHICAGO, IL — January 18, 2018 — Recent retiree Jimmy Darling of Chicago won a $950,000 jackpot when his Lucky Day Lotto ticket matched all five winning numbers – 05-08-18-21-43 – in the Thursday, November 30, 2017, midday drawing.
“You can’t win if you don’t play!” said Darling, who has been playing the Illinois Lottery for fun since it began in 1974. He plans to use his winnings to fulfill his dream of buying a lake home so he can spend more time fishing and enjoying sunsets with his wife.
Darling purchased his winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket at Citgo, 8258 S. King Drive, in Chicago. The retailer received a bonus of $9,500, or one percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket. Lucky Day Lotto drawings are twice a day and seven days a week.
