KANKAKEE, IL — January 10, 2018 — Kankakee resident Jesus DeLeon instantly won $4,000,000 when he scratched a 100X The Money ticket. “It could happen to anybody,” DeLeon said of his top-prize win. He plans to use his winnings to become a first-time homeowner and invest in an early retirement.

DeLeon purchased a few 100X The Money tickets while waiting for his car to fill up with gas at Casey’s General Store, 290 E. Route 115, in Herscher. He didn’t realize he won until the retailer scanned his ticket for him. The retailer received a bonus of $40,000, or one percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket. 100X The Money is a $20 instant ticket featuring four top prizes of $4,000,000, one of which has not been claimed.
