ABINGDON, IL — February 26, 2018 — Tyson DeJaynes of Abingdon instantly won a $75,000 prize when he scratched an Ultimate Crossword ticket. After scratching his ticket in the morning, DeJaynes went to work thinking he won only $50. He later checked his ticket again – six times to be sure – and realized how much he actually won. “Don’t give up, there is always a chance the next winner will be you!” DeJaynes said of his top-prize win.
DeJaynes’ grandmother purchased this lottery ticket for him at a Casey’s General Store, 101 S. Monroe St., in Abingdon. He plans to share his winnings with his grandparents and pay off his car.
The retailer received a bonus of $750, or one percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket. Ultimate Crossword is a $25 instant ticket, which featured 10 top prizes of $750,000 and 100 $75,000 prizes. For more information, please visit www.illinoislottery.com.
