DeKalb Resident Wins $75,000 Illinois Lottery Prize

DEKALB, IL — March 22, 2018 — Bruce Chennell of DeKalb instantly won a $75,000 prize when he scratched an Ultimate Crossword ticket. Chennell has played the Illinois Lottery for decades, but this is his biggest win, he said. He plans to use his winnings for his daughter’s wedding and to take a European river cruise with his wife.
Chennell purchased his winning ticket at FAS Mart, 933 S. 4th St., in DeKalb. The retailer received a bonus of $750, or one percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket. Ultimate Crossword is a $25 instant ticket featuring 10 top prizes of $750,000 and 100 prizes of $75,000. There are still six unclaimed $75,000 prizes.
