PROPHETSTOWN, IL — April 4, 2018 — Prophetstown resident Tobias Bloom instantly won a $356,888 top prize when he scratched a $250,000 Taxes Paid.
Bloom, an assistant manager at Kay Jewelers, was on quite the lucky streak. He won $1,500 in a Mega Millions drawing the week before his big instant win. He has been playing the Illinois Lottery for 29 years and plans to use his winnings to buy a new car, install solar panels on his deck and take a trip to Florida with his wife.
Bloom purchased his winning $250,000 Taxes Paid ticket at BP, 2301 John Deere Road, in Carbon Cliff. The retailer received a bonus of $2,500, or one percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
