Schaumburg Resident Wins $500,000 Lucky Day Lotto Prize!

July 25, 2019

SCHAUMBURG, IL – Schaumburg resident Tracey Golden has been playing the same Lucky Day Lotto numbers  6 - 12 - 27 -30 - 32   for six years, and when her friend checked her ticket and told her she won, she was in complete disbelief.

“I was talking on the phone and one of my friends checked my numbers and told me I won,” she said.  “I grabbed the phone looked at the numbers, and I thought the date was wrong. I couldn’t believe it.”

Golden, a flight service clerk and Schaumburg resident for the past 22 years, was elated when she heard the news and has big ideas on how she plans to spend her winnings.

“I would like to take a trip to Fiji or New Zealand,” she said.

Golden also wants to give back to a cause that she really cares about.  “Dogs are near and dear to my heart,” she added, “I would like to donate to some animal shelters and give homes to dogs in need.”

Golden is an avid lottery player and has won smaller prizes in the past, including a couple hundred dollars playing Pick 3, but this is her largest prize to date.

Each of the numbers mean something to Golden and she encourages others who play to never give up.

“Always believe in your dreams. Never give up on them. Keep chasing your dreams,” she said.  “Stick to those numbers. Stay true to them, we have got to play to win!”

Golden purchased her winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket at United Liquors, 34 S. Meacham Rd., in Schaumburg. The retailer received a bonus of $5,000, or one percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.

More than 14,000 players won prizes ranging from $1 to $200 in this Lucky Day Lotto drawing.  Lucky Day Lotto drawings are twice a day, seven days a week.  For more information, please visit illinoislottery.com.
