Fast Play® Friday: Midday Decision Brings Brighton Park Player $2,500 Prize

November 20, 2020

CHICAGO—Illinois Lottery player Wan Li Zhu is heading into the holiday season with a few extra bucks in his back pocket after cashing in a winning $2,500 Illinois Jackpot ticket.

The player’s decision to stop at a local convenience store and pick up a Fast Play ticket at the same time definitely paid off.

Zhu purchased his Fast Play ticket when he stopped at Snappy Convenience #5 on 2477 S. Archer Ave. in Chicago around lunchtime but it wasn't until later in the day that he realized he was a winner.

“When I found out that I won, I was at home watching TV,” says Zhu. “I was so excited!”

Once the reality of his win had settled in, Zhu wanted to celebrate his winning moment with the fabulous folks in his life. “The first to know about my win was my family,” says Zhu.

Zhu says he began playing the Illinois Lottery four years ago and it should come as no surprise that Fast Play is now his favorite game to play.

Zhu believes in balance in all things in life, which he echoes in some words of advice to fellow Lottery players: “Play in moderation.”

More than $680,900 in Fast Play prizes have been won across the state this week.
