Powerball Fever Sweeping Illinois as Jackpot Climbs to $570 Million for Tonight’s Drawing
CHICAGO—Powerball® fever hits high gear as the jackpot climbs to a staggering $570 million for tonight’s drawing.
This is the highest Powerball jackpot drawing in almost nine months and, if won tonight, the life-changing jackpot will be the eighth largest powerball prize ever won in U.S. history.
Plenty of Powerball players in Illinois have already walked away with a lot of cash this year, including two players winning $2 million prizes, and eight players who won $1 million each. In total in 2021, Powerball players in Illinois have claimed over 2.2 million winning tickets totaling more than $27.7 million in prizes.
Powerball tickets are $2 each, and players have the option to add the Powerplay for an additional $1 for the chance to multiply non-jackpot prizes. Just this weekend, an Illinois player added an extra $1 for Powerplay to their ticket and turned a million dollar prize into a $2 million prize!
Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday with the next prize draw taking place on Wednesday, September 29 at 9:59 p.m. (CT).
It’s never been easier for residents 18 and over to play as Illinois Lottery draw-based game tickets can be purchased online, in-store and on the Illinois Lottery app. Visit IllinoisLottery.com for more information.
