Third Largest Jackpot of All Time
CHICAGO, July 28, 2022 – With less than two days to go until the next Mega Millions drawing, the jackpot has increased again and is now a mind-blowing $1.1 billion.
This is the largest jackpot in almost four years, and the first time since January 2021 that there has been a jackpot of $1 billion or more.
This is the third largest jackpot of all time in the U.S.
So far this year, three Illinois Lottery players have won prizes of $1 million with Mega Millions. This includes the Tuesday night drawing on July 26 when a ticket bought at JM Food Shop at 11200 N IL Route 47, Huntley, IL 60142 matched all five numbers.
This newly-minted Illinois millionaire is yet to claim their prize. The Illinois Lottery encourages all winners to write their name on the back of their ticket and make an appointment at a claim center to claim their prize.
